14,000 flights from Texas to Maine grounded by storm

More than 14,000
Thats how many flights were grounded this week after the winter storm that spread snow and ice from Texas to Maine caused chaos on the roads and in the air as well as knocking out power to hundreds of thousands of homes and businesses. Central Park received 12 1/2 inches of snow while 16 inches fell in parts of New Jersey. While that system has moved on, a new one is coming in. Boston and Cape Cod are forecast to get at least 6 inches.Hear here
A return to growth in fiscal 14 seems unlikely.
Bill Kreher, an analyst at Edward Jones, on Cisco, which signaled this week that its difficulties in selling products in emerging markets arent going away. The San Jose maker of network routers and switches forecast sales for the current quarter that trailed some estimates as it suffers from a slowdown outside the United States and increasing competition from Huawei Technologies, Juniper Networks and Hewlett-Packard.Heads Up
The San Francisco International Gift Fair runs Saturday through Tuesday at Moscone Center. With thousands of products from top-name manufacturers to budding designers, it draws buyers from department store chains and local retailers. This year, there are 11 product sectors, including Gifts & Collectibles, American-Made Handcrafted, Home & Garden, Gourmet & Housewares and Village Arts. Therell also be seminars on the tools retailers can use, including social media, to improve their business.
