Yankees' Mark Teixeira strains hamstring

New York Yankees first baseman Mark Teixeira left Fridays game against the Blue Jays in the bottom of the second inning with a strained right hamstring.
Teixeira was escorted off the field by Yankees trainer Steve Donohue after he tried to make a play on a foul grounder by Blue Jays outfielder Melky Cabrera. Television replays showed Teixeira reaching for his hamstring as he left the dugout.
Ryan Braun booed in first road game
From the boos to the bad at-bats, Ryan Brauns first road game since his 65-game suspension was a rough afternoon.
He went 0 for 5 against the Red Sox on Friday. But he was five for five in getting hooted by fans at Fenway Park.
All I can do is focus on things I can control, Braun said after the Milwaukee Brewers spoiled Bostons home opener with a 6-2 win. I certainly wasnt anticipating a reception like I got in Milwaukee.
Jason Kipnis agrees to six-year deal with Cleveland
Cleveland All-Star second baseman Jason Kipnis agreed to a $52.5 million, six-year contract, binding him to the Indians through the 2019 season. The deal includes a club option for 2020. Kipnis signed the contract one day after turning 27.

Right-hander Dominic Leone, a top pitching prospect in the Seattle Mariners organization, was called up from triple-A Tacoma for his first stint in the majors. . . . Arizona third baseman Martin Prado was taken out of the game in the sixth inning Friday after hurting his left hand tagging out a runner on a steal attempt.
