Something constructive from tech

Frustrated by their industry being blamed for San Franciscos housing crisis, a group of tech workers helped out Saturday at a Habitat for Humanity Greater San Francisco site in the Ocean View neighborhood, where the organization is constructing 28 single-family homes priced below market rate.
Software engineer Ryo Chijiiwa, who organized the outing, felt that whether or not tech is truly to blame for the citys lack of affordable housing, tech workers should do something about it - and in this case, build some of it.
He started a Facebook group called Tech Workers for Affordable Housing and brought a team of tech workers to chip in.
Saturday was the groups first outing, but he hopes it can become a regular occurrence. I really do hope we can at least show people were not all evil, or that were well-intentioned and care, he said.
