Baseball news and notes, April 6
Nationals third baseman Ryan Zimmerman, who is unable to make a regular, comfortable throw to first, underwent an MRI exam that revealed inflammation in his right shoulder.
Manager Matt Williams said Sunday that the exam showed no structural issues.
The issue hes got is probably throwing overload, Williams said. He throws a lot.
Zimmerman has already made two throwing errors this season.
Through spring and last year and things like that, it felt good sometimes, it felt bad sometimes, Zimmerman said. But its never really felt like this.
Zimmerman said the injury doesnt affect his swing. He struck out as a pinch-hitter Sunday.
